Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives (CInI) and Tata Trusts took an initiative for addressing the issue of poor tribal community in Central India Region and bring about changes in their life. In spite of the rich natural resources and good rainfall received in this region the communities live in poverty and often faced food insecurity. In this line project design was done by CInI with their partners and Tata Trusts approved this 5 years mission mode operational project. The motivational caption of this project 2015 to 2020 was selected as “MISSION 2020, catchy Lakhpati Kisan – Smart Village”. RDA hold this initiative for Dhalbhumgarh Block with of technical thematic support, ideas, knowledge form CInI.

The next drive is to bring about improvement in quality of life in the livelihood clusters through creating provision for hygienic sanitation facilities, safe drinking water and bringing about behavioral change in the communities about personal hygiene and cleanliness.  Approximately 1000 families in Dhalbhumgarh Block of East Singbhum district are to be covered

Synopsis of the project:

The project namely “Accelerating Growth of Lakhpati Kisan to Ensure Enhanced Income and Quality of Life in Focused Geography of Jharkhand (Dhalbhumgarh, East Singhbhum)” is driver for regional growth while transforming quality of life of 6,000 households under the Central India Initiative (CInI) has started as a Mission mode (also known as Lakhpati Kisan – Smart Gaon – Mission 2020) from the year April-2015 where both CInI and RDA team were continuously working as a joint team to build Dhalbhumgarh as a regional driver of development by promoting large number of Lakhpati Kisan and Smart Village. In Dhalbhumgarh, the Average landholding of the Scheduled Tribe population is 2.12 acres. Out of the total land 15% is homestead land, 16% upland, 19% medium upland and 19% low land. Principal source income of more than 80% tribal’s is agriculture & daily labour. Most of the tribal families are marginal and small farmers with 69% marginal farmers, 21% small farmers, 9% medium farmers and 1% large farmer. After successful completion of the Six successive years, now the project has entered in the second phase i.e. in the seventh year and alike the first quarter the Dhalbhumgarh PIP team primly have worked in four major prototypes – (a) Agriculture, (b) Solar Lift Irrigation, (c) Goat Rearing & (d) Institutions as to bring about positive changes to the community as well as to move toward some more steps forward towards achieving the aim of the project.

Undulating land pattern in this block is suitable for promotion of Kharif vegetables. Major constraint for promotion of Rabi vegetables is due to lack of irrigation infrastructures. If irrigation sources developed is in planned way, scope of promotion of Rabi & Summer vegetables will increase significantly.

The project is concentrated in 91 villages covering all the 10 Panchayats of Dhalbhumgarh CD block and the Panchayats are Junboni, Moudhasoli, Chukripara, Rautara, Jugisole, Kanas, Mohulisole, Kokpara, PawraNarsingarh&Nutangarh. And centrally these panchayats are conducting all the work by 2 Federations & one Farmer Producer Company. RDA team is continuously supporting the federation & company’s members to cope up with emerging constrains while delivering their responsibilities for betterment of all activities under project.
